Well, you can look in the classifieds and buy a SRI, or some pep boys do have the spectre pipes, but they're pricy. Or, try the wrecking yards, sometimes you get lucky. I've also seen some pretty nice, factory plastic intake tubing from trucks or V-8's that can be cut for your purposes. I got lucky, my mechanic had some old intake piping left over from some CAI's that he had butchered and I was able to scoop some of them up for next to nothin'! Oh, don't bother with thw Spectre adapter, if you've read anything at all, you'd see that everyone just keeps the stock maf housing, do the same. Good luck!

Dude I JUST went through this ordeal. I also have a spectre filter with MAF adapter as well.

Whenever I would disconnect the resonator, the car would sputter at idle (only when warmed up)

I ended up going to autozone, buying 2 couplers, and a piece of 3in exhaust tube.

The problem is there is too much turbulence and it messes with the sensor. You need to add more space between the MAF and the throttle body. ( I tried 2 MAF sensors)

I will go take a pic of mine to give you an example. The car runs good now with this setup (minus a small sputter cause by no y flexpipe gasket, and bad precats)

also some more ponies, and a seriously bad *** sound

be sure to put a filter on the pcv

-Mines still sputtering a bit at idle, im looking into getting the newest ECU software, I have read that if you mess with the intake while having the old software, it messes up things
-My car will not idle with the new MAF (only when it hits operating temp)
-Maybe its an o2 problem. idk but im getting the newest ECU update just to have it

oh yeah and my personal recipe.. I call it Bangin buffalo chicken

Interested in a mid pipe too. Thinking I should just get 3" pipe and put in on there and call it good.

The space between the throttle body and sensor has nothing to do with the sputtering the cause of your sputtering is the fact you aren't feeding air into the front valve cover, the resonator has the tube feeding the valve cover, and even if you put a breather filter on it still has unregulated air because your intake manifold is still feeding the rear and there is a different amount of air flowing than what your sensor is reading.

Yeah, I was just about to say that he did something wrong, cuz we put an Injen CAI in my brother's car and never had an issue. Neither have most people who've done it the way it's suposed to. Not flamin', just sayin'.

Telling PlaneCrash005 that he is wrong is not a flame. It's a fact. I don't even have to read what he said to know that anymore.

I honestly don't think knight is doing them anymore. I contacted him last week for the same thing and got no response. Then I was looking at his past posts and see that he's told several ppl he's too busy with work to make them.

Dude if you are really having such a hard time finding a piece of pipe to put in place, go to home depot but a piece of 3" pvc, drill a small hole in it grab a piece of hose that fits your pcv valve or the little breather part ( whatever the crap its called) put a nipple on the end of the hose, plug one end into the valve cover and the niple part into the small hole you drilled into the pvc pipe....ghetto intake accomplished. Also after reading some other posts, do not take "planecrash005" advice. He may have good intentions but it sounds like he gets his information from a cerial box.

please explain to me how my setup is wrong? because the pcv hose isnt connected?

how does that hose (feed) the valve cover when its suction not pressure?

have you ever taken the hose off the cover and saw how much pressure at idle?

none! you can disconnect the hose, plug it with your finger, and it still runs perfect.

the issue is not the hose being disconnected, i tested it before and after by plugging the hose, its the volume and velocity of air. there is deff a programming issue, at least with my car

once the resonator is removed it struggles
once its put back on, its perfect (even without pcv hose!)

Alright, just wanted to update. I was totally wrong. There is unmeasured air going in. Even though there was no pressure on the breather, it was doing something.

-As soon as i disconnected my PCV from my intake (and plugged it) my car now idles almost perfect

my intake manifold temp used to burn my hand when I touched it.. now with no PCV and just a breather, I can put my face on it if I wanted..

idk what my PCV has been doing, but it has deff been negatively affecting my engine!

-even before modding my intake, the IM was still hot to the touch, now with no PCV its cool to the touch, and the entire car runs better. I went to 120mph today faster than ever before..

idk but from my opinion PCVs are evil. they cause sludge, higher temps, ect.
-I dont want dirty oily air going back into my intake anyways

(valve is new as well)
