She rides wonderful now...
So, after a very long Saturday I finally finished swapping out the tires, rotors and brake pads on my 2001 GLE.
All I can say is damn she's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro.
For tires I put 2- General Altimax HP in the front and 2- Firestone Firehawks Wide oval in the rear. Stock size of 215/55/16
Rotors, I installed some slotted only all around along with ceramic brake pads. No more horrible shakes when braking. I replaced the slide pins all around because of the rubber bushing that was worn out along with anti-sieze compound.
Replaced the brake fluid cause damn it was darker than I am after summer.
I even painted the calipers and brackets. Black calipers and silver brackets.
I haven't been this excited since I did a SVT Cobra brake upgrade on a 1991 SuperCoupe 5-Speed that I once owned.
The car once belonged to my sister and she put some KYB GR2 struts all around. You can definitely feel them now. I'm super excited. Like some soft of firm but still soft marshmallow.
