Another injector Question

Ok, so i want bigger injectors because i will be going with a BBMAF for sure this summer. I know I should be looking for FBJC100's, but there are at least 5 or 6 different colors of that model. I have seen black, purple, green, blue etc... Is the color code just a manufacturer identifier? Ie maybe denso is one color and bosch another? Or do they have different flows?

That number identifies the style of injector, mainly the top feed style. basically just tells you it will be PnP, there is a number under it I think that designates more specifics, but dunno what they mean. Color is probably the safest indicator of the cc/min.

The FBJC100 injector is a type of top-feed injector. Nissan used it on various vehicles/engines. This type of injector was used by other manufacturers as well. In the Nissan-specific app. for the SR20DE it flowed 259cc, when used on the VQ30DE or VQ35DE it flowed 290 and 295cc. I believe when it was used for the 3.5 L motor, it was setup for 3.5 bar (? somebody correct me if I am wrong - I read this somewhere). I think the Subarus have this injector @ 335cc (?). I am not sure if different flow patterns (more than 4 holes) were used or if they had slightly bigger holes. I gues different manufacturers bore it out to whatever they like or add additional flow paths.

Here is a list of manufacturers using this style of injector.

There's one that is 444cc too but I forget which.
There was an injector thread just recently that has more info in it, on pg#2

Edit, here forums.maxima.org/5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003/660339-injectors.html

There are numerous options for aftermarket injectors for the vq35. Are you keeping the stock rail?

I am over 80% duty cycle with the stockers as is at WOT. If I go BBMAF I need to go at least a little bigger, but i don't want to spend a fortune. I'd rather just grab a set of Nissan/Infiniti Oems. I doubt I need anything over 400cc. FBJC100's are everywhere but so many colors I'm not sure if they are all the same flow

They aren't. COLOUR seems to denote flow. 350z ones are cheap to buy and easy to find but aren't much bigger. No harm in going bigger, though, as long as you can tune for the added fuel

If you want to size right where you want, 370cc is about as close as you will get. Not sure how available the 300zx tt injectors are now a days, but guys used to swap them out for bigger injectors like crazy when those cars were big.

G35/350z all use Fbjc100 injectors, which.are available in blue, purple, green, brown, black and a few others. So what is the flow of a Fbjc100? 335 according to everything I have read, so why so many colors?

So fbjc100 means squat when it comes to flow

So where is the list for color codes?

350z/G35 can be blue purple or black. I have seen all 3 colors.

Now who is not reading the posts? Show me a post with "colour" in this thread.

The stock VQ 35DE comes with injectors from various manufacturers. The injector brands are installed at the factory randomly. What ever the factory had in stock is what your car received. You may notice that your stock injectors are a different color than your friends. Regardless of color or manufacturer they are the same size and performance. They are all high impedance injectors flowing 320CC per min @ the stock 52psi of fuel pressure or 3.5bar.

And yet it seems that everywhere else you look, the z/g injectors or 335, yet the 350z guy says 320.
I'm thinking I should grab the yellow 440's probably overkill though.

Well it won't really matter if u get an EU they can control everything right?... However with only an AFC and bigger injectors u will advance timing indirectly when trimming fuel.

I'd suggest going with a 4" maf if going with the 440s. It will almost balance your AFR back to stock spec.

I'm going 80mm

The yellow 440's I was looking at are 440cc at 3.0 bar so they are definitely overkill. Looking at the 370's now at 3.0 bar which should be plenty. Just waiting on the guy to quote me a price.

A bit off topic, but I am having fuel cut issues, surging, leaning out. I can;t rev past 4000rpm under load about 80% of the time. I think it is probably the fuel pump. I can get a walbro for less than 80 bucks, the Nissan OEM is somewhere around 400 or so. Does the gss342 increase fuel pressure?

That is messed up about him calling it 320cc, dunno dude, I have heard same as you that it's 335cc at 3.5 bar.

Good luck with the answer on the pump, dunno personally, I'm sure the turbod/sc'd guys must have something sorted out.

So I found a set of 370cc @ 3.0 bar which should be plenty for what I have in mind. Anyone know where there is a calculator to determine what these will flow at @3.5 bar? Need that info for the EMB.

They are yellow by the way, so color doesn't seem to matter either as I have seen 440 @ 3.0 bar which are.yellow as well

np there's better calculators out there that use CC/min, etc, I was just on mobile and couldn't link it easy.

And yes, I hope that's plenty! I'll have to go for a ride in this animal when you get it running, sounds like she's going to be a beast!

Pm me how much you have in mind for producing another one. I know your work is quality already, I have had your midpipe on my car for almost 2 years and it has held up very well.
