This code tends to revolve around the ECU, IACV, and TPS. What occurs is a short in the IACV from coolant leakage (the fix is to bypass the hose) and/or a misaligned TPS that shorts the IACV which shorts the ECU. Get a copy of the FSM and a multimeter for the diagnostic procedure and check under the Engine Management section. If even one pin of the IACV is out of spec it will short the system and throw the code. 1. Pull the IACV check for corrosion (meaning it has leaked coolant) and each pin for resistance and continuity if out of spec or continuity replace the IACV and retune the TPS. I have had brand new IACV at the dealer be out of spec so test any replacement IACV. You MUST retune the TPS or it will short the IACV and continued shorts in the IACV will fry the ECU. That said diagnostic of the systems is straight forward but follow the FSM carefully. Failure to correct the code results in a fried ECU. Go here 1st http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...d-seconds.html This is doable and there are alot of threads on this at the ORG. Good Luck! *Also if you have an A/T disconnect the motor mounts.
