Transmission Motor Mount Question

Hello all, Im looking to replace my trans mount on my 2000 auto. Ive done an extensive search and am confused on to which mount to order. I know there are MT and AT mounts. The consensus seems to be that the MT mounts are silver with a thicker mounting bracket and the AT mount is black with a thinner mounting bracket, correct? Courtesy Parts, Beck Arnley and even Rock Auto has them listed that way. So I decided to go under the hood just to make sure and to my surprise, there was a Silver Mount with a big "A" etched into the mount. Have we been mislead this whole time? Which should I order?

Post #42 in this thread shows that this guy who has an AT, has the black mount. http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...pinions-2.html Is there some mistake with mine? I just want to know if I should order a manual mount in my case. Any feedback is appreciated.

They are all basically the same. Some are aluminum, some are steel. You have to get auto though, the MT will not fit that side of the car. 95-03 auto will work.

Look on ebay for a set that costs around $100, I think I paid $110 shipped from California.

Order the one that goes with your car . If you bought it 2nd hand , someone might ve changed it to whatever was available that day .

Little tip , if you buy it locally from an auto parts store , you can change it if it s not the good one bought .

Thnks for the replies so far, I guess my main concern now is: since is everyone is telling me to get the black mount, will the bolts be too long now? I did read someone having to shave the bolts down.

If you buy an ebay set....they are decently built, just beware.....they are steel, not aluminum so the bolt flanges are very thin compared to the aluminum stock ones. The stock bolts will not fit. Buy a set of bolts where the threads go all the way to the bolt head, or the stock ones will bottom out with 1/2 inch to spare.

Just a suggestion with the cheaper mounds do the 3m window weld mod to them and it will stiffen them up nice just do a search for window weld.
