Would anyone be willing to create an amateur step-by-step to test IACV to ECM wires?

I'm not a mechanic, and I don't know too many that would help with this, and I'm trying to save a few bucks. I'm getting the P0505 turns out the IACV is shot an fried the ECM. My plan is to replace the IACV and send the ECM out for repair, then once it's back I'll install them together, perform an idle relearn, and that should do it.

The only thing I am worried about is the connections and wiring in between that may short something out and I'll be back to square one after spending $500+ and lots of aggravation on this job. I read the FSM about testing the wiring (see http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...is-thread.html), but it's all jibberish to me. I'd just appreciate a sort of beginner step-by-step tutorial or video or pics or something so I can hopefully check everything myself and see if its all okay.
