Radiator support question

After reading around it seems that these radiator cracks are a common thing with Maximas. What I was wondering is if this is around the same spot as some of you that had the same issue (the Nissan logo, where all the silicone is).

Ordered a replacement already, silicone is just a temporary fix until it comes in. So leave out the talk about half *** fixes please. Just wondering about the location of your radiator cracks.

I used JB Weld on my radiator when it was cracked. Ran it that way maybe 6 months or more before I finally replaced the radiator after it developed another crack.

I think there is some Nissan Emblem located in that spot. The plastic must be thinner there from the molding process.

hmm, mine just corroded like crazy and leaked out the side. The thing looked like a blue/green dusty mess when I replaced it... but mine's a 4th gen so it's a tad bit older

mine never cracked. it just started leaking in the corner at the seam between the tank and the core. i think it was due to the bad bushings allowing for the rad. to flop around.

If they are all failing at the same spot, where they thin the plastic to put their name, they should be doing something to correct it. The previous owner of my car kept meticulous service records. This will be the third radiator for this car. But the first non-Nissan radiator so maybe I'll have more luck.

New radiator came in yesterday, so it's flush and replace time. While I have it out is there anything other than hoses and thermostat that I should check? You all know these engines like the back of your hands and ran into stuff I'd never think of.

The radiator supports look good, just a little surface rust. I'll sand and hit them with a little VHT.

I'd check all of your water lines. I just replaced all of mine (including some hard lines). The short elbow piece on mine was literally soaking through and the steel oil cooler line was almost completely rusted through on my max. Just give everything a once over.

Radiator Hoses
Heater Hoses
Oil Cooler Lines
Throttle Body Water Lines

How's this for some fine dealer craftsmanship:

So I replaced with some spare nuts and bolts I had laying around:
