scosche kit horrible

i ordered a double din for my 02 and ordered both the scosche and metra install kits just to see wich one i like better. the scosche came in yesterday along with my head unit.

the scosche kit is horrible but nice color matching lol. first thing i noticed is that there is no actual mounting point for the face to go on the plastic bracket. the radio mount holes didnt match up with the bracket to well. to top it off they dont even include enough screws.

im sending it back today. Im not to worried about color matching of the dash but if the metra kit doesnt fit ill be getting that GXE kit.....

Yeah same here. You'll be much happier with the metra kit since it uses the oem metal bracket. The ******* kit came with crap plastic brackets that's way too soft and the face plate only sits in my car snug a little tilted. The metra bolts to the top bracket and the side, the you bolt the head unit on. You have to use a hammer to flatten the top 2 screw holes in the bracket. Solid install with the metra kit.

The scocshe kit has been known to suck. Check the Audio forum, lotta reviews in there and praises for the metra kit, if you don;t want the GXE kit for the insane price.

I have had the metra double-din kit, and it's absolute crap as well. The bottom doesn't line up well, does't sit in place and will snap out constantly. All it is is a ring that sits over the stereo.

GXE kit FTW.

The metra dd plate does have its misfit flaws all you have to do is sand down the lips and sides on it then repaint it.duplicole has the exact match spray for our dash plastic.

im looking at the metra kit now and its pretty good. i havent put it in the car yet. only issue i see so far is that i need 2 screws that will fit it to the radio and bracket. the color isnt an exact match but its only noticeable if you sit there and examine it. besides its comparing a fresh painted piece to a 11 year old painted piece so im sure the color wont be exact due to aging. ill install it once i get the screws and pick up some wire to use for the amp turn on .....

oh yeah and this kit says its for models with the BOSE stereo and i dont have a bose but it still fits.....
