Anyone have experience fixing a 740 code Tourque Converter Clutch Curcit Malfunction
hey guys i did a search but only found three semi-related threads but all took the car to a mechanic or dealership. Due to financial reasons i do not have that luxury and have to fix this myself.
The code was thrown over 2 years ago but since there are no signs of tranny failure or compromised shifting i just ignored it, again due to lack of finances to take it somewhere. But now with the check engine light still on i am unable to inspect without expecting to fail.
For that reason i must get this problem fixed and do it myself if possible with fellow orgers help. An uninspected vehicle is a $175.00 ticket where i am. So please help if you have any related info or experience with this same problem. Again the code its throwing is 740 Tourque Converter Clutch Curcit Malfunction. Thnak you in advance to anyone they may be able to help. Its beyond appreciated...

Hope you have the tools for it.
You will need to drop the trans fluid pan to get to the solenoid. Follow the directions for the code which is checking the TCC solenoid.
Worst case scenario, you will need to replace the entire solenoid pack (dealer part highly recommended).
