Safc2 problems?

So i finally got around to wiring up my Safc2. I started the car an the A/f ratio is at 10.2-10.6 @ idle. I also have a cel. I tried to rev the car and it won't rev past 2200 rpm. Why is this happening? I cut the MAF wire, and wired the sensor side to the afc. That was my understanding from others install. Also i think that i may have the arrow, that's in the Car select menu in the wrong direction. I'm not sure which way its suppose to go. I tried both ways and nothing changed. Am i suppose to do a throttle re-learn after installation? Thanks in advance.

Is your in/out settings 1 to 1? Dont need a throttle relearn. Reset to safc and start over.

Up!

Don't worry about the 4in/4out that's for a different MAF.

It will take 2 or 3 starts for the ecu to figure out it is receiving the correct signal, once you have it setup correctly.

Thanks nishfish871. I have yellow wire going to the wrong aide, and I don't even have the white wire hooked up. once the rain stops here i'll go give it another try.

Noob question here.
Do you need a wide band sensor to read afr, or does the safc read it?
If it did I'm assuming it would from O2's? Would you consider it accuratly measured by their location?

Wideband unit and sensor. safc can't read afr, just alter it blindly.

Haha, I figured that.
The best place for the WB sensor, if your doing just a single, would be in the y-pipe just after the collector correct?

So i finally got everything wired up correctly and all the initial settings in. Also going to install my LRMAF. Now my question is where do i start tuning? Hi or low settings. On the average I/H/nwp spacer modded car, about how much fuel needs to be added/removed across the board?

That's something your WB will tell you. Not a universal answer, all depends on each specific car. Lotta factors.

MAF size/injector size, etc.

Ok can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've added up to about 7% fuel all across the board hi and lo and I'm still running lean as hell. Can I have a bad safc? It wasn't this lean until I installed the unit. Especially at wot. It goes of the chart.

What data did you use to base the adjustments off of? How do you know it's lean? Posting the data will help us offer you feedback, because it's hard to know what is going on with no hard numbers.

MAF size, and in/out settings, AFTER you post the actual numbers.

I have an arm uego wide band. Afr bounces around from 15:1 to off the chart. Sometimes it drops to mid 14's

Stock Maf. 1/1 in/out. I didn't install the lrmaf yet because of the conditions now

When does this occur? if it happens when you let off the throttle, that's normal. What does it idle at?

How about WOT, or near WOT, and normal driving?

Idle is between 8-900rpm. Regular driving its in between mid 14's to high 16's. Half throttle and WOT go from 14's to off the chart. Gonna get a video in about an hour

AFR at idle... but yeah, looks like you've got some issues.

so I changed my MAF (oem) and disconnected the afc & the car is still running lean. What else can cause this lean condition? I'm going to check my wide band sensor here in a few to make sure that's not faulty.

Run an air calibration of it has that option, if not, check for intake air leaks.

bumping an old thread. A/f ratio still goes lean under heavy throttle and sometimes at idle. What else should i check? can my timing be causing this?

What size injectors do you have? How did you get your rev limit that high?

Mine ran lean as heck even with just a 3" MAF with 1/1 and Z33 injectors. Ran fine with 440's @ 1/1 and a 3" and 3.5", 4" required 1/17.
