Stuck O2 Sensor

Hello everyone. Got a question,I am trying to replace my O2 sensor in my '00 maxima. The darn thing is rusted in the hole and it doesn't want to come out. I was wandering if its OK to put some WD40 or liquid wrench on it to loosen it up? Will that hurt anything? If so what would you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

no problem, PBblaster works very well. Spray the hell out of it and let it sit for half hour or so

Which O2 sensor...you either have 3 or 4. One trick you can do is drive for about 20 mins to warm things up, then try (just BEWARE the engine will be a bit toasty, so no bare arms )

Yup^^

PB Blaster and heating the engine up should be your friend. Hopefully it's easy to reach without getting burned.

Yup spray it with whatever you have. Some stuff is better than others.

An O2 socket should be used, otherwise you can strip it and you will not have fun if you do that

Since you are replacing the O2 sensor, break it off so you have what amounts to a bolt head left and use a socket, preferably a 6 point socket. And, of course, soak it with something like Blaster or Liquid Wrench or WD40.

Thanks everyone for the info! Will try driving it to warm it up and see if that helps,if not I'll soak it in liquid wrench and see what happens lol. Wish me luck. Thanks again!

Its the one behind the passenger side wheel. Its not going to be fun to get to at all! Thinking about taking the wheel off and getting to it. If anyone has had to replace this one,is there a trick to actually getting to it?

Life was good once I switched over to six point sockets.
