I35/Maxima transmission problem

Hey Guys, I really need your help and expertise. Never had an issue like this.
So I got this Infiniti I35 2002 Automatic transmission. I had the engine problem, so I had to swap the engine, now I have it running on maxima`s engine, but not really running, while I was working on the engine, I had to start the car and let it run to make sure that there are no vibrations and stuff. After a while, I realized that my transmission is leaking, so when I finished with the engine, I took out tranny. This is when I realized that I have a problem because the torque converter did not want to go out easily, so I used a "little" force to take it out. When it came off it had a metal ring on the torque converter that is sitting there tight. I got another torque converter and it doesn`t have that ring on it. I went to the infiniti dealership, nissan dealership and they dont even have that part in the system/pictures. Did anybody got this type of problem? What is this part called? What should I do? I`m tired working on the car, and it stays there already a month because I cant figure out what do I need.
