I went to see my dealer here in the Toronto, Canada area on Saturday and came away pleasantly surprised. I went there to have my current 95 Ford Escort (, but reliable 5spd with 230K km) appraised for a trade-in upon delivery of my 6spd with HLSD I ordered back in Oct. 2001. On Wnd. this week I spoke to the dealer to find out the status of my order. He informed me the car was "on rail" from Vancouver and should be here in about 2 weeks. As I entered the dealership I was then informed that my car had arrived on Friday this week. I asked to see the car and sure enough there it was with my name on the window sticker. The car is beautiful and I'm really excited. I am now scheduled to pick up the car this coming Saturday Yeeeehawwww!!!!

BTW how do I make sure the car does indeed have a HLSD? I don't trust car dealers.

 

Check to see if it has aluminum pedals, it should also say something about the HLSD on the window sticker. Next Saturday is a LONG wait, I hope you can make it .

If you don't mind asking, what did you get the dealer down to? I was going to order one. I got the invoice prices from carcostcanada, but the local dealer said the prices are going up $300 for the post-Dec '01 HLSD. They apparently have 2-3 6spds coming end of the month. Since you got yours already, I should check with them again!
