Help: Drivers side window switch

Just wanted to ask a quick question as i cannot find the answer when searching. I have a 2000 Max and i cannot roll down the passenger side front window with driverside switch, BUT when i use the passenger side switch it rolls down fine. Any thoughts

EDIT: I made a mistake, i can roll down the passenger side window with the driverside switch but i cannot roll it back up. But i can roll down and up the passenger side windows with the passenger side switch.

It sounds like the contacts in the driver's side master switch that controls the passenger window have a problem. You didn't mention having a problem with any other windows, so the problem has to be in the switch itself and not a wiring problem. A wiring problem would affect both rear doors as well as the passenger door.

I don't know if it is possible to open up the switch and clean/repair the contacts, I've never tried it.

I've been having a similar problem myself. My front passenger window can only be rolled down by the driver; however, the passenger may roll it up. I'm not sure what the cause of your problem is, but you can find the information on taking it all apart here:

It is kinda pricey, about $125 at the dealer, about $95 on line plus shipping. Part number 25401-2Y910. (http://www.nissanpartszone.com/parts...401-2y910.html).

I don't know if this is a Nissan-only part or if you can get them in auto parts stores. You could check a junkyard if there is one by you. The 2000 and 2001 use the same switch, the 5.5 gen is different.

You can open the switch and clean the contacts i have had this happen when water gets into the switch.just carefully pop the rocker switch cover off and use a small screwdriver to clean the 2-4 little contacts inside the to be safe put some dielectric grease on them to prevent the issue again.

If you didn't want to use a screwdriver, I'd recommend an acid brush with isopropyl alcohol would to the same.
