Yup, the fronts will have to be replaced soon as the car 125k miles. I should have replaced them while I was swapping the springs but I couldn't wait to start modding it.

^ You guys won't have to wait long for those OEM struts to blow, especially if you go with something like Tein S tech.

Speaking of suspension I bump steered my way into a curb today trying to accelerate fast into a right turn. . . . Was in a hurry and got the worst of both worlds = damn torque steer, damn bump steer thanks to a huge dip in road, damn it all. Curb rash on wheels sucks.

CarGuage Pro is an awesome little app for what it's worth. Checked my timing with it, and it was on point at +2.

Anyone need timing advance? I'll do it free for any (no ricers) Max in my area. Doing it on a buddys 01 GLE today and then another 03 Max tomorrow.

Installed new koyo rad and added a plane crash type intake,no dryer hose tho' i used some Volvo air intake tubing

I'm glad mine are almost on there way out then lol.
I will upgrade to some Illumina struts down the road but I wanted to pick up this carbon fiber hood around my area first.

Do they make bump steer kits for our 5th gen Maximas? I haven't looked into it yet.

Installed a 5ohm 50w morimoto resistor to get rid of the light out warning for my tail light since I'm running Triton V3's. Works way better than the tiny gold resistors I tried before.

^^ Yeah TDMI bump steer kit is legit, very useful if you're real low.

Finally got around to rewiring my fogs to come on w/o headlights. Used the AC relay instead of tail light relay.

Dropped my AT Pan

I finally got to dropping the pan on the AT tranny of my 2000 Max (125K miles, original owner).

Having seen pictures that some people here posted, I was expecting a lot of metal shavings and dirt/crud. However, my pan was surprisingly clean. Each of the two magnets was covered with a thin layer (~ 1 mm, 2 mm at most) of "metal mud". No dirt/junk in the pan itself or anywhere else.

That surprised me. There have been pictures posted on this forum that showed a lot of dirt, perhaps 5-7 mm or so. Some of the cars had a few more miles (180K or so?) than my Maxima, but still ....

I don't plan to do this again. Getting those 21 bolts out and tightening them properly/gingerly while crawling under the car with AT fluid all over was a PITA ..... . BTW, I have been changing my AT fluid every 30K miles during the first 90k miles, and every 15k miles since then. Not sure this could make such a substantial difference.

I changed oil and oil filter myself and also installed a new magnetic oil plug.
Tomorrow I'm looking to change the cabin air filter.

4 good quality all seasons and alignment.

And a quick question... I have a 2000 with the 4 o2 sensors I think, how many non-foulers do I need and which ones do I put them on exactly? Just straight non-foulers correct?

???

^^ Both rear sensors

Straight should work if long enough/small enough hole. Some people use angled/curved ones to make sure.
The ones you linked to look good, but the cheapest way it to just drill some actual ones out.

Unintentionally had to go onto a rural gravel roadway today in the Maxima... Maybe car was too stiff or due to the road surface but it felt like it was fish tailing making the tiniest turns and lots of stone noise

2000 I30t sitting on 20" wire rims

So I dropped my car 1.5 inches all the way around and put 20" 150 spoke wire rims. I read on here that about 95% of forum members don't approve of wire rims on any generation i30! Well let me know what u think. I can't attach photo to thread but check out my profile pic or album.

Police officer couldn't do anything. It turned out the papers the ER sent to the government still haven't been processed so I was technically not under a medical suspension!

Blacked out the chrome trim on my black 5.5 with TrimBrite. I would post some pics but I didnt do the best job. I actually might do it over again.

aFe DryFlow panel filter and TransGo reprogramming kit in two weeks! Might do a coat hanger GAB if I continue to do the basic mods like headers, test pipe and NWP products. One thing at a time.

Also thanks to D.Stillwell for suggesting I just get the '01 SE tails. They look great with the "MAXIMA" and "SE" removed. Nice and clean like it should have been from factory.
