When will I learn...
I've had my 02 Maxima for 7 months now and I cease to learn that it's not wise to use the washers/wipers with my drivers window down. Maybe I'll learn when my switches short out... Lol
On that note is there something that can be done to help prevent that... Besides putting the window up?

Maybe you have to aim the nozzles? I can use mine with the windows down and nothing happens.
I know it happened to me in my CD5 Accord. If you're just getting ricochet splash off the windshield then u can probably use a thin pin/needle to adjust the direction the nozzle is aiming.
Hope that helps.

Depends on which ones you order. I recommend Wethertech. These go inside the channel.

I had the exact same problem on mine very recently, liquids flying into the car and in my face as I sprayed the window while driving. There are a few things that will 100% eliminate the problem and you can do any one of them or all of them.
First, try aiming your nozzles using a needle or even a good plastic toothpick will work (wood will break), I did that and mine were way better but still not good enough, so I ended up just getting aftermarket nozzles that are just the same as stock (looks/function wise) but the adjustment angles were much bigger and after adjusting and aiming them right they work perfectly now.
Also, sometimes the pump is bad, either it pumps too hard or not hard enough, or it could just be an aftermarket replacement that someone put in and I've seen a bunch of those on used cars. You might want to look at pump as well if everything else fails.
