I have a 2001 se and the airbag light just started flashing and cant be reset but i cant find the airbag codes on any website or post. Does anyone know what it means wen it blinks one long flash then one short flash? I just want to know if its something like low battery voltage or something

Try This, I got this from ClubArmada.com It worked for me.

Since some of you guys here are new owners I thought I'd save you a trip to the dealer once you start modifing your armada's. I'm not sure what set's it off (other than pulling things apart) but at some point you will likely end up with a flashing airbag sensor light. Here is how to reset it yourself.

1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

Nissan did just do a airbag recall. Doesn't seem related but it is worth a shot seeing if your car is one of the ones needing to go in. If it goes in they may be able to help you at the same time if it is unrelated.

I know this is a tired subject, but i had been trying the variations on this site all day and ... failure. Result: entered diagnostic mode and showed 1 long flash, 1 short flash (never did find out what that meant) Finally, I think I discovered the secret that made the light go off:

1. Do the off and on FAST.
2. Don't count seconds, turn to off (acc) the moment it flashes off (to start blinking)

I did this:
Turn "on" and wait for light to begin blinking. The second it starts to blink- immediately turn it off (one click to acc)
IMMEDIATELY it back on. Repeat 3 times.
Turn off.... start car and hope that did the trick

I had given up, but this slight variation has worked so far.....

2001 AE
PS they checked my VIN and it was not covered in the airbag recall
