Trade in Question
couple of questions
Ok, first off, how much did you guys actually get from your dealers when you traded in for 2k2's ?
according to nadaguides.com my maxima (16k miles, 2k Maxima SE automatic, perfect condition, c&c + sunroof)
NADA avg tradein value is $19,150
average retail value is $21,825
How realistic are these figures? How much should I expect?
I'm fairly confident I could talk my dealer down to invoice price (did it before), which is somewhere around $24-25k for the 2k2 I want (not sure if I can get him to drop destination charges again)... Now from what I understand I would only pay taxes on the DIFFERENCE between that price, and my trade in price!?
so I would end up taking a 5 grand or less hit? or is this unrealistic!?
How does this work in canda (trading in your old car, and taxes)... From my rough estimates i could probably shave off $2-3 grand by doing that (well worth the 6 hour or so drive each way, unless I end up having to pay that 2-3 grand back to uncle sam)
What if I sold my car here, and then bough a new maxima in canada (how do the taxes work out with that?)
Any thoughts? experiences?
