Hello,
My Nissan maximum completely ran out of gas and when I refilled and drove one block, parked in a parking lot for shopping. When I get back it will not run. It starts fine but stalls immediately. The battery has good power because it cranks very well but it doesn't run.

My "service soon" light has been on since I bought it 4.5 years ago and I have been driving without any problem while the light is on. I was told the light is on because of oxygen sensor. Nothing serious.

This problem happened a few month after I bought it but the problem went away on its own. Any idea why after fill the tank this happened?
Thanks

Hope diesel wasn't pumped in lol.

if it starts then dies sounds like fuel pump, buy a can of starting fluid and spray intake if it starts n keep sprayin it stays running u know your not getting fuel. try that.

If it does run check fuel pump fuse under dash if its good remove backseat and remove fuel pump connect to battery if it don't turn on replace.

if it don't run start by replacing crankshaft position sensors. And cam.

I'm interested in seeing if the pump fried giving weight to the old wisdom of never run low on fuel.

1. Check codes and report back.
2. Fix ALL codes. Don't say you have been driving around with no problems while the SES light is on. Thats a problem!!! There could be several codes that popped up over the last 4.5 years and you have no idea.

it was not diesel
Hello Travis,
Thank you for giving some pointers. How do I access the intake to spray the fluid to it?
