I think my flex pipe is bad but first how would I tell if its my flex pipe. Also, if it is how would I fix that step by step without welding? And should I just get a whole new exhaust system instead if fixing it?

 

If it is the flex pipe leaking, jack up the car and listen for the noise while the car is running. In terms of replacing it if it is the flex pipe, when you get under there and observe, you will see for yourself first hand why it cannot be replaced without welding.

 

Yup what ^^^ he said... get under her and listen. If its hooped you gotta replace it. There is no patching a flex pipe.

 

Unfortunately. I let my brother use my Maxima for a few hours and he called and told me it broke. We got a tow truck to tow it back to my place and it makes a really loud sound. I thought it was the cylinder heads at first so I did a compression test to all 6 cylinders but they seem fine. So I'm thinking its the trans?? I cleaned the IAC yesterday with carb cleaner so is that what messed it up? Here's a YouTube video of my engine right now when I turn it on please watch this!

 

Also I just noticed the coolant level went down like an inch and The car drives but doesn't really go past 3000 RPM

 

Oh my god... That's the engine clanking. Not sure if it is a valve lifter or what, but the engine is screwed. Major repair!
