raysbestos rotors- double layer

I read many of the rotor threads. I am looking for decent cheap rotors. Any reason not to buy these
Amazon.com: Raybestos 96948R Professional Grade Disc Brake Rotor: Automotive Amazon.com: Raybestos 96948R Professional Grade Disc Brake Rotor: Automotive
Also can someone explain why some rotors have two layers while others dont

Are the store brands any good like duralast?

Fronts are double layer to dissipate all that heat and prevent warping. Rears are single. They don't take near the stress of the fronts. I like Raybestos stuff. Can't really go wrong if you have a fairly good quality rotor paired with a very good quality pad.

Are their pads also very good quality?

I've had great luck with their professional grade ceramic pads. No noise, low dust, good price. Just did the 6th gen upgrade with new rotors and pads all the way around. Big difference in feel now.

Rockauto just started carrying Autospeciality Power Stop brake kits. Front rotors and pads for $72.

I am assuming these are comparable quality to raysbestos

That was the part number for 02-03 Max's.

This is for 00-01's ($78): http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...156&cc=1374533

I just purchased and installed the PowerStop rotor and pad kit from RockAuto. I'm 100% satisfied with the product and the price! Perfect fit, quiet, and low dust (from what I can tell anyway)

Yeah, I found out about them on other messageboards and people seem to like them. I wouldn't get the drilled race rotors. I think the street ones would be ideal.
