It is not that hard. There are few write-ups on here. Just look for them.

On the DS of the engine right under the intake manifold use 1/4" ratchet 2 8" extensions and a 14mm low profile swivel socket

It can be done without pulling the intake manifold, but it's tricky. Above is how to do it without pulling the manifold.

If you have small hands, then you can get them in there.

Be careful after you take the bolt loose! I dropped it and it fell into a crevice. I just said F it and simmed it lol

In order to do it right, you should remove the IM so you can apply proper torque to the new sensor. With that being said, it can still be done without removing the IM.

SO what's the problem, you get a code for a KS? Crappy MPG, low on power?

Well that just good Mr. I can change my upper in 3.28 minutes with a fisher price rubber wrench!

That being said, the last time I changed my KS on my 4th gen, I didn't take the IM off.

IIRC, the OP's is an 01, and compared to the 05-99 and 02-08, I'd say it be easier to take the IM off. The VIAS hardware and vac lines get in the way.
