Where is located and from a scale thru 1-10 how difficult is it DIY?

In order to do it right, you should remove the IM so you can apply proper torque to the new sensor. With that being said, it can still be done without removing the IM.
SO what's the problem, you get a code for a KS? Crappy MPG, low on power?

That being said, the last time I changed my KS on my 4th gen, I didn't take the IM off.

IIRC, the OP's is an 01, and compared to the 05-99 and 02-08, I'd say it be easier to take the IM off. The VIAS hardware and vac lines get in the way.

Yeah I'm gettiny crappy Mpg....I see the vac lines and yes there in the way...lets just say this...myself or Shrek couldnt switch the sensor..lol
