What should I sell my 2001 GLE for? New England Area

This is one owner car, and maintained well. Brakes are new, good tires, no dents. BO(gu)SE cd/cassette (works with mp3 insert). A/C works, Auto trans. It has leather seats, but I could not keep up with the drivers side splitting. Vinyl tape in warm weather looked like it was ok, but too brittle in cold weather.

I replaced the IACV years ago, and unplugged the engine mounts, though they were not (yet) shorted.

Selling it for an Element, as I need a van, and is a pain to keep the Max and an '89 Toyota pickup shoveled out in the winter next to the '08 Altima.

I clayed it sometime in fall last year and still looks good.

119,000 miles

I'll post a pix later.

So you think Craigs list is best?

JH

if youre not in a hurry, start it high and slowly drop it down until it sells. Craigslist is good so long as you can put up with 90% of people flaking and the frequent nigerian scammers

Oops! Why did I miss that? 119,000 miles. Not sure if they are original miles, or if we bought some used miles at some point.

I would list it on Craigslist for $4500, your probably gonna get a lot of low ball offers, but that's pretty low miles for your year, so I would be firm on your asking price.

3500 OBO

I bought my 01 Max for $2800 with 158k but I got scammed. If I knew about this IACV/ECM bull**** before I bought the car, I wouldn't have offered half that. Since yours doesn't seem to have those issues, I wouldn't take anything less than $3000.

I was lucky in that I only needed to install a $10.00 IACV driver chip in the ECU. It burned, but did not burn traces or nearby components.

The motor mounts and driver chip were fine.

I replaced the IACV (it had shorted stepper motor) for $300.00 from NAPA.

Then I added some pico fuses to the IACV chip, and unplugged the motor mounts, although they had not yet gone bad.

I was concerned with underfusing at first, but this was in 2009, so no problems.

Oh well, wonder what surprises I'm going to find with my (new) 2008 Honda Element.

I'll still hang around here for my Altima 2008.
