Air Bag Light Flashing

So my air bag light is flashing. I was able to enter the manual diagnostic mode and I ended up getting 1 long and 6 short flashes which pointed towered the front crash zone sensor.

So I ended up buying the sensor used off the forum replaced it and still having the same issue. I ran it with a consult scanner that said it was that sensor also.

The guy guaranteed me that it was working before it shipped but my concern now is that it was shipped in a small box that was bulging because the box was to small for the part. I was wondering how much of a beating these can take before they get triggered?

Also are their any other tests I can run to pinpoint the issue?

Edit: This is a 2002 Maxima SE edition

The only other thing you can try would be to check the wire continuity between the sensor and the control module. Nissan does not publish any kind of test to check the sensor, they just say replace it. There is always the possibility that the control unit is bad.
