Average MGP on cluster, wrong?
I've finally put 2 full tanks through my Max after having it almost 4 months. (I don't drive it much).
I've noticed that the dte seems to be about right, but the avg MPG in the cluster reads 5 mpg high. Here I drove mostly hwy this past tank and only pulled 26 mpg 'calculated' and the cluster said 31.5. It has done this the past two tanks.
Is this common?
I have put a new fuel filter in halfway through this last tank and my fuel gauge still reads ok.

I think they all do it. Mine is between 3 and 4 MPG high and I've never heard of one being accurate.
It seems to be consistent so just subtract what it's off by and it's fine. If there's a change in MPG that might signal an issue you'll still notice.

I just use mine to try to drive with better fuel economy on long trips. I know it is inaccurate; however if you reset it after you fill-up and leave it on mpg, I think it helps you lay off that gas pedal. This weekend mine was reading 34-35 for a whole vacation trip with the trunk loaded, kids and wife, full gas, and heavy *** 350z 18's.
