Front Catalytic Converter bolt/nut torque specs
#4
I'm not really sure but I think it is because of the materials involved. The exhaust manifold is cast iron and the cat flange is steel. Cast iron is not as strong, so you can't put as much pressure on it. The bolts holding the exhaust manifold on to the cylinder head are also 22 to 25 foot pounds.

Dear Dennis,
Thanks again for your valuable help.
Your analysis makes complete sense, cast iron is much more brittle but can withstand the heat. Now I understand the difference in the torque specifications. Thanks again, you're a great resource.
Respectfully,
Rudy
