Two MAF Plugs from Previous owner? Issue?

Okay so I followed the threads but I don't think I saw a for sure verdict on whether we need to get ecu updated after doing the maf swap. Also really, I wanted to know if I should tell them I did the swap or just say Hey I put in a new maf and I need an ecu update? I got the new 2k1 maf on my 2k2 but it still feels the same. Hesistation/Loss of power/ restricted feeling.

UPDATED THE TITLE BECAUSE NOW IT SEEMS LIKE THE MAF PLUG COULD BE AN ISSUE.

I didn't do an update on mine, been about 3-4 years and 40k miles. I'd say it's fine. Unless it begins acting weird, then it might cross my mind. Did you swap the thermistor?

If you still have the same symptoms, check the codes. When I cahnged my MAF, it wasn't throwing codes but would intermittently do the 2500 RPM deal, and semi stall, etc. Since I changed the MAF (used 01), it's been fine ever since.

I did my MAF and didn't do a ecu update. Mine is running and driving great!

I swapped the thermister. Hey does a bad fuel filter cause similar maf symptoms? and my maf connecter looks different. The cord thats generally the maf cord is split into to plugs instead of just one maf plug. When I took the old setup off(already had a knockoff Cold air intake from precious owner) The other plug, plugged into the old maf that was on there. When I put this new 2k1 maf swap on there, that same plug didn't work, i used the other plug which im assuming is a regular stock maf plug. Not sure ive ever seen 2 maf connecters/plugs on an 5.5 gen

Wow someone hacked that harness. Looks like that other plug that is currently not attached is probably for some aftermarket Maf.

You have any check engine lights?

EDIT :
I would clean up the harness and be sure everything is making a good connection.

has to be from an aftermarket maf because oem plugs don't look that crappy take off that plug from the harness solder up everything nicely and everything should be smooth from there on out......loose connection can interupt any other signals

Wiring...Harness..soldering...I'm not familiar with that at all. I mean I am comfortable around my max and working on it. However, never had to mess with electrical stuff(even though i did the 2k2 to 2k1 maf swap) I do have a soldering iron and everything but can you or anyone else guide me through what I have to do to make this back to a stock MAF setup? As you all see the OEM Maf plug is plugged in but I don't know how or what the previous owner did to put that aftermarket MAF plug in.

Your going to have to peel back the tape or whatever is covering the wires that go to the connectors. Then remove the extra connector (the one not being used) and then resolder the original wires back together.
