What's up guys, I've been on the hunt for a cheap 5.5 gen when I came across this one on Craigslist. It's at a dealership, and of course it's the one car being sold as is/no warranty. The car itself is loaded and clean, no rot on the radiator support/ fenders (which is a big killer up here in new england)

I'm test driving it tomorrow to see if I really like it but I did notice this odd noise coming from the engine. Figured I'd take a quick video while I was there and post it up here to see if anybody can identify it.

The guy only wants $2700 for it or else it'll go to auction.

It's a 2003 SE, automatic, 177k, AC works mint, tinted, etc. It's just this engine noise that has me concerned. I don't wanna go ahead and say it's a knock but let's see if anyone can diagnose it. Thanks!

$2700 for a loaded 03 with 177k? i paid $4500 for my loaded with around the same miles.

im no mechanic, but like the old saying goes, if its too good to be true.................

That's a lot of miles. I'd suggest take it for a drive windows down, stereo, ac off and listen. Check for the noise on cruise, acceleration, etc. kind of sounds like something external to the engine such as compressor or crank pulley.
Hard to tell from a sound clip though.
