My exhaust is rusted out :(
Pipe rusted out and broke right after the cat converter on the way back to the muffler. The whole thing looks like ****. Took it to a mechanic for a diagnosis. Muffler is good, but everything between that and the engine needs to be replaced. I think he was just trying to squeeze me but I can agree with him from visual inspection that at least from the cat to muffler needs replacing.
Is something like this worth buying:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/T304-STAINLES...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1
For the 2.25" stainless steel piping to go back to my muffler? I'm not planning on using that muffler, I'll stick with the one I have while it still works. From what I've read 304 stainless steel will resist rust better and the 2.25" piping should gain a few hp? Is this a good/bad idea?
Also, if I wanted to toss in a magnaflow high-flow converter, will that be compatible with the above piping? And with the stock piping up to the engine?
I'm planning for a y-pipe and headers in the future but for now it's more about fixing the problem.

agree, that ebay muffler will not fit with your oem back muffler... I already asked the seller some time ago... just talk to the shop. You can replace just the mid section with an aftermarket pipe from the cat all the way to the rear muffler
