How much would you pay for a 2001 SE 5 speed?

Basically I'm on the market for a 5 speed maxima and I've come across one that looks pretty good. The KBB values these cars around the 2800-3300 mark nowadays with 150k miles or so. Do you guys believe the blue book is an accurate representation of what one should pay for a 5 speed max?

Also, is there any advantage of getting an 01 Maxima over an 02-03? Other than the 3.5 L and the 6 speed, is the 01 better on gas and easier to modify?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Its depending on where you are. Out here, the price is little higher. $2800-$3300 would get you decent 99-2000.

I would spend $3300 for a good healthy 2001 SE 5 Speed with maintanance records.

I got my 00 SE 5 speed 3 years ago for $4800, with 128K miles and maintanance records.

I got a 5speed anniversary edition a few months back for 3000. Had 163xxx on the clock. Needs the core support done but they all in the midwest.

I paid $1000 plus a 97 Mitsubishi eclipse for my 5speed anniversary edition with 180k miles, only problem the car has is that it needs a cat, car runs crazy amazing for the mileage on it

private sale?
auction?
dealership?

If you have the option of getting the 3.5L. DO IT but check for oil burning issues.

The 02/03 while coupled with the possible oil burn issue will support more in dept modding better then the 01 will.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think a lot of it boils down to maximas being relatively difficult to find with a manual transmission. I see automatics going for 2200-2700 dollars, but whenever I see a manual they're always 3k at least. The KBB doesn't take into account the rarity of 5 speeds, in fact it values the 5 speeds as being less than the autos.

I agreed on 3000 with the guy. It's a private seller, 165xxx miles. Good shape overall with the exception of a couple small dents on the door.

Check the lower radiator support. The front motor mount bolts to it. These are notorious for rotting out. Costs between $600&$700 to replace unless you know someone.
