300zx calipers on 2002 maxima

I have a 2002 Maxima and recently purchased a pair of 1990 ZX calipers and prepping them up for my car. I have 350 Z wheels on them if this helps to answer the question. I was wondering if anyone has installed ZX calipers on a 5th Gen and what size calipers and Brake lines did you buy for the Maxima?

It won't fit. You need custom brackets and 04 rotors to make it fit.

honestly just get better rotors and brake pads, its easier and it will improve braking. 2002's have abs correct? If you have enough braking power to engage the ABS then you have enough brake torque

They do have ABS. But what year rotors and what brackets did you get for your Maxima. I dont want to order any wrong parts online as I want to be certain I am getting the right parts for the modification.

He sold the business.

Go with A34 brakes, or the EVO brakes. I've had A34 brakes for a ton of years and they easily outperform the OEM brakes.

And don't as me about them, nor post a new thread, search. There's an awesome thread on it.

A34 = 6th gen brakes.

In short, they're totally bolt on.

You can get the brackets to bolt the 300zx calipers from fastbrakes. Com

Can you confirm 2005 maxima's calipers & rotors are direct bolt on for 2003? Are there any different between the two system? What about 06-08 calipers? They tell me it a different part numbers.

Thanks

04-08 calipers will bolt right on, as will the rotors and you can use your existing brake lines.

Search and you can find out more.

Just did mine last weekend. Its by far the best "affordable" brake upgrade.

Got reman calipers with bracket, kept factory brake line, and got Power slot rotors with Hawk HPS pads. Got them seeded in good now and they are amazing. Definitely what you want for "spirited" driving. And its all bolt in.

What about the rear? Are the 6th Gen max a direct bolt on?

I hope nobody answers that because if you are incapable of using any search function you are definitely going to screw up a brake upgrade, crash, and kill a family of 6 with two newborns.

Seriously dude? I have done extensive search on this process and found inconclusive and vague information on how the process is done. That's the only reason I opened this thread in order to find the most accurate information from fellow Maxima owners who have done the same process. For your information, I do know how to use google search and I am also college educated in case you are wondering. Stop judging people beforehand.

information on BOTH the 6th gen and the 300zx swap is everywhere, there are even writeups on here for both. Its possible you didnt find anything because there are hundreds of threads like this one of people hoping someone else will do the work for them or just happens to have a link saved. There are many ways to hone your google-fu

FYI I wasnt wondering if you were educated at all

I was referring to THE 5TH gen Maxima not the 6TH gen mate. Cheers for helping.

The 6th gen calipers swapped to a 5th gen. It was spoonfed to you that they would bolt right on, and you're still asking questions that have been answered.
