Well its been a week anniversary since I wrecked my Altima. I got another Maxima that's a 2000. My Altima was a 05.

I got this maxima with NO key fob. And I still have my Altima key fob I know it can be re-programmed and I know the instructions to complete it successfully but I didn't have any luck.

So I'm guessing the 5.5 gen remotes don't work on 5th gens right? Or can somebody verify that this is correct or incorrect? Because in the end it would save my $100 for having to get a new remote; or have Nissan rape me for a new/used one. Hoping I can re-program somehow. Anybody want to shed some light?

Thanks in advance gentleman. Btw wreck was crazy..was going 75mph spun out hit the median on the hwy NOT wearing my seatbelt. Side curtain air bags went off. Lets just say...I'm happy to be back in the Nissan family.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you have to buy a remote.

The radio frequency that the remotes use keeps changing, so you don't get to use remotes on any car you would like to.

When you buy a keyfob, make sure that is has the FCC ID of NHVWBU43.

The 2001 is different from this, the 2002 & 03 is different from the 00 & 01.
