ABS light == NATS malfunction?
ABS light == NATS malfunction?
I've got a 2002 Maxima SE 6 speed that is my daily driver. It's due for a good bit of maintenance, and since the ABS light was on I thought I'd go pull the code: the infamous P1614 - NATS malfunction.
A couple of weeks ago I had two extra keys made for the Max at HD. No wonder they don't work.
So, now that I know where the ABS idiot light is coming from, how do I reset it? The car starts with the factory keys.

The ABS light has absolutely NOTHING to do with your NATS issue. There is actually nothing infamous about P1614. You'll always get that code if you use an improper key, or install a remote starter with a bad bypass module.
The ABS light is likely coming from a bad wheel speed sensor. You'll need a more advanced OBD2 code reader to pull that code.

tlm - thanks. I went to the technical advanced Advanced Auto Parts (sarcasm) down the street to pull the codes. It reported only this one, but my ABS light is still on. I'll try another place.
I suppose the NATS report came from trying to use those Home Depot keys.
