glove box light.....help

I cut the wires on my glove box light thinking that I could simply splice in an led but it's not working even with the car running and headlights on. I have tried both polarities too. Still nothing. The stock light was working before I cut it out.

Did you verify the led unit actually works?

Found the problem thanks to an old post here. Had blown 10A fuse in compartment next to car battery labeled tail lights.

Thank you.
