Electric cutout.

Electric cutout.
Has this ever been done to a 5th gen? I see 350z's with some the sound beastly, but regardless of sound does this have any gains? Thinking of doing a bolt on with with an old test pipe I have.

Heard it on a 6th gen before it wasn't bad, but had stock pre cats on the ride....

I didn't have an electric cutout, but I had a manual one where my main cat was. I only used it when I went to the track. It's easy to have an exhaust shop make it the same length as your stock cat and weld on the correct flanges.

I still think a test pipe is the way to go for power output. A cutout might seem cool in a 67 Chevelle, but on an 02-03 Maxima, not so much. That’s just Imo though. And not too sure on power output, I’m sure the money and headache from the sound could be netter used for say even an AFC or toward something with a little better, more calm power output.

Thanks for the responses guys, I seen a 350z at a meet on Saturday and sounded sick, but I don't wanna add something with out getting power. So if there's no power or no hp I could get out of it then its useless.

Not the same engine, so different engine, but I suppose you can gain some power with it.
