Headers!

It's just about that time I'm doing performance upgrades to the old maxipad. First thing on my mind for my 2001 Maxima Se is headers. I've been looking into them for awhile now, but all I seem to find is M2 and Obx. Now I'm wondering, which is better? And are they a direct fit? I'd highly appreciate if someone can help me out.
Thanks
-

I bought m2 for my 03 and not a direct fit. Don't know about 01.

Looks like I will be relocating some o2 bungs.

I heard the same about the obx. And all I found was some 95-01 headers and I'm not sure if they are direct for or anything. Headers are becoming impossible to find nowadays

I find it stupid that we own performance vehicles but can't find headers for them. But if I look up some corolla headers they got unlimited

Cattman headers is the BEST option for 5th gens. Got mine installed on my 02 a month ago. probably the only headers that are direct fit. No problems with Cattman headers. Plus, the guy is super helpful.(sometimes hard to reach lol)

Yeah the platform sucksssss.M axima reminds me more of a comfy cruiser than performance vehicle though...

Cattman and OBX were all I found when I went hunting this year

@OP - why not trade in for a newer model with bigger engine?

I've owned Maximas consistently (2nd gen - 5.5gens) at approximately 12-13 different cars. Turboed my '89 and lightly modded my 2003 and still own BOTH. I LOVE these cars. But they are by NO MEANS what would be considered a "performance vehicle."

Given that fact, you are left choosing between very few (and ever dwindling) options for mods. Choose wisely.

I'm pretty sure that you won't find any OBX headers anytime soon, unless you get them used somewhere.

Trying the shortys here tomorrow.

Bung holes need modified for sure. I think they were built for 4th gen, but according to other posts here on the org they should fit. VQ30 headers = VQ35 headers. Even cattman and obx vq30 should fit the 3.5, per postS here.

Not sure about the altimas headers w/o modifying them.

Convenience does not constitute necessity and want/desire alone fails to build headers.

Maxima enthusiasts are a significantly small group compared to most all other groups. You are certainly aware of the concept regarding supply and demand!? Well, there is far too little demand to constitute a greater supply.
