Replacing front door courtesy light

I was trying to replace the clear bulb to a colored one in the front door step light. I managed to pop off the plastic covering so the bulb was visible but the bulb didnt just pull out like a T10 bulb normally would. Is there like a clip or something that I need to push down to remove it because ive tried pretty much everything and im beginning to think that the bulb just dosnt come out. Has any one done this? I have a 02 maxima SE If that makes a diffrence, any help is appreciated, thanks!

The bulbs certainly do come out! I replaced them on my '01 SE and as far as I'm concerned everything is the same as your '02. Just pull outward on the bulb. One of mine was stuck so I just pulled and pulled until it wiggled free.

I chose blue leds

Post a pic or two and ill let you know if theyre 100% the same. On the bulb that was "stuck" .. I thought I was gonna break the bulb too.. but it didnt so...

It makes things much easier if you disconnect the wiring from the back of the courtesy light. Gives you a better chance.

Also, have you tried removing the bulbs in both the driver and passenger doors?

I guess i just needed some reassurance that the bulb does in fact come out.
After pulling and wiggling really hard it finally popped out.
Thanks
