2k Model Confusion
2k Model Confusion
I am confused and becomming concerned about the
TRUE model of my 2k "SE".
It is an early 2k model(10/99) 5sp badged, dressed and most importantly, sold to me as an SE.
Bought it in July, from a Nissan dealer with 15k on it. Supposed to be "factory official". However, the title arrived saying GLE/GXE? My suspicion arrised due to sporting stock 16" rollers and recent knowleged that the "leather" interior is likely not factory.
Would my title be wrong?
Do they call ALL maximas GLE/GXE on titles?
Could someone make a "dealer" SE with badges and
smoked tail lights?
I'm so confused.....

the 17's
actually came out around 10/99, so the 16s dont mean anything. The DMV could have checked the wrong box when doing the title.
Given the used car price diff (not that much), I'm not sure what the advantage to buying tails and aftermarket leather to pass if off as a slightly more expensive car.
did you get fogs?

Queens Nissan!
Thanks
I guess I could be paranoid. It has other
SE birthmark like fogs, white faced instrument
cluster and cargo net. Agreed, there would be little advantage, money or otherwise, to add all
this as aftermarket and then sell it. However,I keep some questions, and realy wish it had 17's
and a stock leather pack. I did'nt bargain for
a Nissan "Mutt".

When I sold my 95/se, my title also said GLE/GXE
it seems that the SE does not fit into the box.
I had to call the dealer I had bought the car from, and have them convince the new purchaser's finance co. that it truly was an SE!
They used the VIN #.

I know this may not be relevant....but my insurance company has my car listed as a GXE and I own a SE. My insuance guy told me that all of the maximas are classified under the GXE/GLE acronym. No Biggie....it probably saves me on insurance! I need all of the help I can get.
