Manual shift console on auto?

I am wondering if a manual 2002 shift surround console is same as the automatic? I want a shift boot so do you think there the same dimensions to snap on directly?? Thankyou

I think he's saying he wants the manual boot on his auto. That whole section with the ashtray should swap out, right?

Oh yeah if he swaps the whole lower then sure, just have to remove the guide for the shifter. Which isnt that good of idea...but anything can be done

I think the whole piece would fit inside. The auto has a smaller hole for the shifter then manual. If you do have any success let me know I've always to do this

Yes I mean the whole section I heard you don't need the shift control module but it might still work with it I'll purchase it and tell you all how it goes!

I have a manual and my friend an auto and seeing both cars consoles im pretty sure you could put the manual console over the shifter selector and itll be hidden and then slip ur **** back on and you'll have a full boot. Probably dont even have to modify anything.

Alright sweet sounds easy now all I'm worried about is color but I think they only came in one color besides black and silver but it's not to expensive so I'll order it up and get back to you guys

Hey could one of you manual guys tell me I look at them and my infiniti i35 auto has a little straighter rear end towards the cup holders. How is that silver ring trim around the boot mounted on? I thing I'll have to pop it off and somehow pop it on my auto one but also the boot does this come apart from the silver ring trim thanks!!

All you need to do is pull off your existing trim. Cut the elastic off the bottom of the boot and slide it over your auto shifter area. Slide the trim back on and clip it down (it will be tight but will hold the boot snug).

Personally not my look, but I was thinking about this thread while tearing apart my car to paint some pieces. Had an old boot sitting around and thought i'd give it a go. Hope this helps you out.

BTW, just changing the shifter makes a world of difference. Something to consider first.
