Hi,

New guy here. I am desperately tying to find out where the fuel filter is fitted in my 2001 Maxima. All the searches I did indicated that it should be in the fuel pump, in the fuel tank under the back seats. But all my local shops (online and brick/mortar) show that it is a normal metal one usually fitted under the hood next to the engine - here is a picture: http://media.supercheapauto.com.au/sca/images/88078.jpg

Trouble is I can't find out where exactly this bloody thing is! Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance. Oh, the model is an Australian Maxima A33 (Engine VQ30DE V6 3000cc).

 

as far as i know, up to 1999 that style of fuel filter was present and it was clamped on the firewall. 2000+ it has the in-tank fuel filter that you dont touch and gets replaced when you require a new fuel pump

 

Maybe I will just go into a store and take close look at the fuel pump..
