Question about Sidemarkers

I've been looking through the forums if anyone had any info on having smoked side-markers but couldn't find a answer. I wanted to know if using smoked side-markers with the stock bulbs still be visible at night. I have the sterling mist max and wanted to have the black but for the amber and red to be still visible at night.
Thanks.

I have the depo brand smoked markers, they are pretty much Stirling mist body color when off. The light is visible through them. The set i bought came with front amber-ish bulbs. But the rears did not come with any.

I would like to put leds in the back but because I have them connected to the turn signal it messes with the polarity.

In short, yes light will shine through if you have a bright bulb. Good brand

Once you get the markers hit me up I have many brand new LEDs for sale, they do light up much better than the stock bulbs, plus you get rid of the ugly yellow color

Bought a set from this ebay seller back in 2012. Perfect match for Stirling Mist. Still look great and they come with the colored LED bulbs.

Check his store because he also carries these now if they are more your style.

just so u know u don't have to get colored leds, u can get regular colored bulbs they work just as fine. and for the record, in most states it is a law that you need the side markers blink with appropriate colors once you get clears or smoked.

Trying to decide if I Should still get the tinted ones or the clear ones. I kind of like how the clear blends with the sterling mist.

These are the tinted lens I linked above on my Stirling Mist '01. I do not believe the clears will match as well.

Those are really nice. Those are the same ones in the link? The one in the link looks a little bit darker.

^^^ Those are good, and there's another version which is a bit darker and you can see the light thru them perfectly w/ the red/amber bulbs (non LED).

I bought smoked markers at first, then custom smoked my stock ones to match the black SE tails and black housing headlights (sterling mist too). You can always use VHT Nightshade and tint them yourself easy as dark as you like, doing it over the stock red/yellow markers will make sure they light up well. Mine look black when turned off in the daytime, but show light perfectly when on day or night.

The smoked ones have the clear look of course, so if you like that then VHT nightshade is not for you.

From what I remember the auction looks exactly the same as when I purchased them. That was 8/12 so that listing isn't visible anymore. Mine were $49.95.

I was expecting them to be darker from the picture as well but when they were installed I was pleasantly surprised.

You are correct, sorry. Let me rephrase what I meant for the record

Thanks Everyone for your help. I'll probably get the tinted ones then....I also had another question but I didn't want to post another thread...I got some Ba9s led bulbs for my map lights but when I put them they don't light up, I tried turning them around but still nothing. Is there anything extra I'm supposed to do or am I using the wrong bulb thanks.

Any chance you are throwing out your red take-outs?

Hi,
I have the tinted type markers in my Maxima (bought the car used and it came with them), but am getting stationed in Germany in July. I don't think the smokes will pass German inspection and am looking to get my hands on the OEM red lens markers. Any chance I can toss some bills your way and have them shipped to North Carolina?
(I have the ambers replaced already, just need the rears.)

FWIW I have Red LEDs behind the smokes in the back and they work great in that regard. Previous owner had blue/white and didn't think they looked good at all. With the Red LED at night you can't tell they are tinted, but in daylight it's game over for my inspection purposes.

Let me know,
Thanks!

My purchase from the above linked seller had free shipping, priority usps , arrived in 3 days...

Just as an update, as I said they arrived and went on without a problem. The provided amber and red LEDs look great.
