squelch under load
squelch under load
190,000 hard miles. I've replaced the ecm, tps, alternator, starter, PS hose, cat back exhaust, axles, wheel bearings, calipers, etc. Normal stuff for a car. Recently it started missing at first it was bad then became intermittent which leads me to believe its an injector. I'm about done replacing things on this car because I'm just gonna buy another one if this car decides it doesn't want to run anymore.
Even more recently it started this awful squelching noise which sounds like its coming from the firewall/ left side of the engine inside the car. I can't recreate the noise in the garage because it only does this while I'm driving. I've considered that its the belt but it sounds more like a bearing that has play in it because it sort of goes in and out like its going between being balanced and not. Any ideas? Sort of hard to figure out unless someone were to sit on the engine while I was driving 30 mph lol

The PS fluid was a little low but not so low that it should make noise. When my hose cracked I could just turn the wheel and rev it and I would hear the pump make noise but this noise only happens while driving under load. Similarly if the belt were loose it should be able to squeel at any load, not just driving and is a lot louder. This noise isn't very loud but it is like nails on a chalkboard make you want to drive into a wall awful.
