02 Wont Start, lights flashing

I went to go start up my 02 maxima se, i turn the keys and the car just makes a clicking noise. I took the keys out and put them back in and tried to start the car again. Same thing happened only now the car flashes and makes noise everytime i take out the keys.
Im pretty sure it has something to do with the antitheft system, there is nothing i can do but leave the car on, NOW even if i turn off the car and leaves the key in the lights start to blink

Solved: Car battery needed to be charged

do you have an after market alarm system??

If its factory, is the security light solid or flashing or off?

but it sounds like a immoblizer issue. Do you have a factory NISSAN key or some dumb after market one???

Can you measure the voltage with a voltmeter to make sure it's the battery that is the problem?

I had this same problem. I got the battery tested at O'Reilly's and the battery was good the connection to the positive post was lose, I tightened the prong and vuala it worked perfectly.

It checked out fine but battery is cheaper than a starter...

Testing with a voltmeter is not the same as load testing.a battery may test at 12 volts but when the starter is drawing 60-100 amps while cranking the battery may not be able to handle it.but anyway george_ get a battery and a TUNE on the new battery.btw did you ever think that maby your emu lost its setting from battery being dead.
