How to clear pending code in the ecu

My 2002 Maxima SE with 110,000 miles have a check engine light (SES). The OBD Scan tool (Innova 3130) showed code error of P0021 (Camshaft position Timing Advanced Bank2). I replaced the camshaft position sensor bank 2 and delete the error using my scan tool, however the OBD showed pending code error with illuminated yellow LED. My mechanic told me to perform a basic drive cycle to clear the pending error. I found an article how to do this.

I did the ffing and the obd reader showed lighted Green LED (engine system are OK and operational) even in live feed.

Prepare the vehicle fuel tank between 30%-70% full. Good battery and alternator
1. The vehicle must sit overnight for at least 8 hours with outside(air) temp below 90F
2. Cold start: Start the vehicle and let it idle for 2-3 minutes in Park or Neutral
3. Turn on the headlight, heater, blower and defroster and let it to idle for 3-5 minutes. Drive it few city miles
4. Short Freeway Trip: Drive the vehicle and go up to steady speed of 55 mph-60mph for a minimun of 5 miles.
5. City Driving: go up to about 35-40 mph and then maintain a city speed of 25 mph before slowing down to full stop not sliding stop (new driver full stop). Full in to a parking place and let the engine idle for 1-2 minutes and then shut the engine off.

Should not have to delete the DTC stored in the ECU. Once the failing part has been replaced, run the DTC P0011, P0021 IVT CONTROL DTC Confirmation Procedure.

Maintain the following conditions for at least 20 conecutive
seconds.
ENG SPEED
2,000 - 3,000 rpm (A constant rotation
is maintained.)

COOLANT TEMPS 70 - 90°C (158 - 194°F)

Selector lever 1st position (A/T or M/T)

Driving vehicle uphill
(Increased engine load will help main-tain the driving conditions required for
this test.)

Just delete the damm codes with a scan tool.
The ecu will only delete dtcs if the fault Is gone and it passes that test 3 times without having out of range values or detects a low or high current circuit.
I doubt you can do all those regulations in this weather. If you know you fixed the fault just delete them with scan tool.

What he is saying to do, is only done by us technicians that want to verify if we have fixed the problem, once the ecu verifies 3 consecutive test with no fault...then it will erase.
