Custom Tail Lights
Has anyone done anything with the tail lights besides the stock black or 5.5? Love these cars but the tail lights I dont really care for. I dont want the black ones and the ebay ones are hideous. I was thinking of maybe picking up a set and taking the lens off and color match the housing and leave it for the 3D effect but the ovals are what I mainly dont like.

Pretty sure our tails are sealed and opening the housing is pretty much impossible without breaking them. I've seen several people post the same thing, and had the same idea. I don't think anyone was successful opening the housing. I thought about buying those hideous bight red lenses and then darkening them a tad to get that deep red.

I have seen someone pick up a clear pair like those and color match the non circle parts(the area thats black on '01s)
If done correctly and cleanly it could look pretty good!

I like that, info on what is done?
I have a 03 and mine are orange blinkers. I think I'm going to pick up a stick set and pull the lens and see how they hold up. If the trunk relies on the tail for sealing I'll cut the lens and see how it looks.
