stripped out bolt and threads on frame

2000 nissan maxima one of the control arm bolts that attaches it to the frame stripped out the bolt and the threads in the frame. what is the best way to fix it? and what size bolt is the orignal for this part? i dont know if the image appears below

you gonna have to drill out the hole bigger get a tap and die set and make new threads, then use a bigger bolt... thats about the only thing you can do... sorry it sucks when that happens, that's why PB plaster is your best friend when taking old bolts out... the only thing better than that is HEAT... lots of heat on that bolt

i have had people tell me to helicoil it. i didt think that would be safe since its part of the suspension. what size should i go up to i was goin to go up to 5/8 i think its some where around 1/2 in

I had the exact same thing happen to me, I had to have a bigger hole and bolt put in, this was last year, it has held since then, no play or rattle, and I was told the same thing about the helicoil but opted for getting a bigger hole drilled

Yea just drill it out and tap it. I've gotta deal with my problem too, someone put in the bolt, stripped it and the nut broke off the welds.
