02 sensor code and running sluggish po138
I have code po138 which is a 02 sensor. After I change the rear bank upstream sensor how can I clear the check engine light without using a scanner? Will disconnecting the battery work? Also is there anything else that would trip this code I should look for?
Another problem I have is when I hit the gas the rpm will go up and car takes a second to respond. The pickup isn't like it used to be. What could cause that?

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. It will also go off by itself (assuming the problem has been fixed) after 2-3 days, depending how and how much you drive.
The other problem could be the MAF.

What about the loss of power? I cleaned the maf sensor and did Seafoam no difference. It idles good shifts good but after first gear if I slightly punch it , the rpms jump half an rpm or so and it takes a second for the car to accelerate. Happens all the time. Thanks. Its a manual transmission.
Im thinking its not the maf because the idle is fine and it starts rite up.

I've had a maf problem before when in idle the rpm go up n down and when its a stable rpm its really low. Driving the car the car doesn't go past 2nd or 3rd gear. That's not the case.
Its a normal idle. Normal shift. It just takes a split second for the car to respond to acceleration.Happens mostly between 2 and 3000 rpms in any gear past 1st.
