Does it bug the $h!T out of you guys when someone posts an ad for a "2001 maxima se anniversary" but its not even an se? I find that at least half of the sellers on craigslist say they have the AE when its a debadged GXE and etc. Drives me crazy.. am I the only one?

Im not even looking to buy anything! Just out of pure boredom I check from time to time and it makes me very unsettled. Makes me want to meet them just to say 'hey, f@$! your scummy attempt to scam unknowing people'..but then I will be shot, shanked, raped, or all three -___-

You can deal on CL if the people know wtf they're talking about, but it's rare (got my E34 off CL, dude was completely legit).

However, if you know someone, you can get a clean 2001 GLE with 119k mi for 3 grand.
(I won't be driving it, though, stupid autotragics)

When searching for my first car I had a few really good experiences and a few really bad ones on Craigslist. I got so desperate after searching for nearly 10 months that I met a guy with a pos 2000 mitsu galant. I drove it around the block and said no way jose. I then proceeded to get harassed by the seller when a few days later his starter quit working and thats somehow my fault I suppose lmao.
I ended up finding my Max at a dealer, but I would never blindly buy a car on CL. Either let me take it or take it yourself to a mechanic of my choice for an inspection. 1/2 to 2/3 of people were okay with that... the rest? See ya!

I always bring an amigo when I get something off Craigslist too.

Glad to see im not the only one irritated!

That because they are idiots, don't know the difference with the GLE and the SE. Mine is an AE and definitely a difference from the non-SE and SE in options and among other things. I love my AE, however haven't been driven in a year since she's on jackstand, just been doing some project replacing the original brakes, shocks and other chassis parts bushing. Just a depleted funds to finish it, but slowly done. Only got like 81k miles on my odo. I intend to keep it til to a point either oil is delpeted or the engine quits.

I'll be honest, I am a CL horror. But the deals that I manage to get are outstanding. I think that CL in the states is a lot different than here....

I bought my 02 5.5 for $500 on CL. Bought my Pathfinder for $500 on CL and I just bought my boat for $6K on CL. All super dooper good deals.. I buy and sell rims on CL daily. The trick is to assume that everybody is a douche until proven otherwise. If you take the time to read the add properly, you can tell exactly what kind of person they are and usually by the picture that they take you can tell a lot too.

The adds and people you avoid are the ones that say:

4 sale - dope rims with lip. honda fitment. no pics cause camera is broken. $800 FIRM

Right on the money, read between the lines and look at the pictures.
if the person took pictures of the interior from the outside through the locked door/window then hes a douche.

Scammers won't respond unless it's some canned message. That one is posted in STL, too.

Some are just idiots and think that power windows/locks is loaded
Others claim that they had the timing belt replaced and are adamant about it. How many 3.0s (or even 3.5s for that matter) need a chain replacement (if that was the case) People are idiots and mechanics take them for rides.
