Need help with lights.!

ok so a few weeks ago my front fog light werent working a nice guy on the forum helped me, and i got it to work. apparently they were already modded to the headlights off and fogs on. with just cornering lights. so then i have this problem as of a week and a half ago... my driver side cornering light bulb went out, i replaced it and when i took the old one out it had a small hole and the whole bulb was white inside, then the same thing happened with the passenger side, replaced both bulbs.
then last night i noticed a melted marshmallow look on the cornering light on the drivers side and a burned hole on the passenger side, from the outside. again the drivers side came out with a white blown bulb and a hole. passenger side came out in pieces. I don't know what it is. can someone help please, any suggestion???? I also just ordered led cornering light from www.superbrightleds.com to see if it helps.

The light bulbs may have been the wrong ones. If the wattage was too high, the heat it creates inside the small enclosure cooks it to death.

Do you know what the bulb model number is? I think it is supposed to be H3.

My mistake. I had fog lights burned in my brain.

While my comment about heat is correct for any light bulb in a small space, type 921 is the correct bulb.

I think the bulbs are blowing because you've got a moisture problem in the corner light housings. You mentioned its been raining... and white stuff on or in the bulb is indicative of corrosion caused by moisture...

921 is too much wattage for the sidemarkers. You should be running 168 or 194 which I believe is a 3W while the 921 is either 7W or 16W. The LEDs will solve the problem as they produce very little heat in comparision to even a three watt 168 bulb.
